Works ok but the handle keeps breaking

do not waste your money on this microwave! it may look nice but you will be disappointed...where should i start.....the glass plate underneath which lights up the stove gets sooo hot it cracks... (this has already happened 2x) you also cannot use the microwave if you are using the timer.... the turntable often makes noise as well. the samsung label is glued on and has started to peel off ......

microwave slowly stopped heating food. initially it was hit or miss, then to a limited temperature and then completely stopped. as it's out of warranty, repair estimate was around $400+ :d

do not buy this model. it's advertised as 1000w, but it is nowhere close to that. according to the usda (https://ask.usda.gov/s/article/how-do-you-determine-the-wattage-of-your-microwave-oven), an ice-cold cup of water should boil in about 2 minutes with a 1000w oven. this samsung instead took a whopping 5 minutes 45 seconds to bring water to boil, and that's even though it started at 25c and not ice cold. the video is at https://youtu.be/9fuip7iyndy

horrrible customer service and horrible warranty!!! have been trying to get my money back on a magnetron i paid $200 for after this microwave gave out after a year of use. its been 3 months and nothing. i keep calling and its the same cycle over again. never buying samsung appliances again. horrible company who doesn't care about their customers.

i bought this model after my previous samsung range stopped warming the food (about 3 years after i purchased it). i gave samsung another chance mainly since i didnt want to deal with anchoring a different range to the wall. i got a product without the range filters and with circuits issue (the microwave start running automatically as soon as i close the door, the 30 senconds option doesnt work etc. ) . i tried to message/chat with a representative online but no one is answering. i typically trust samsung with other products (my tv, my dishwasher) so this is really frustrating.

My Second Microwave

i bought all new samsung appliances for a kitchen/laundry remodel. this is my second microwave. the first one failed within two years (magnetron failure) and i was told that the warranty only covered 1 year. this new replacement model is under two years old and the handle broke off (design defect in my opinion as it is made of plastic and sits above the gas range!). i am trying to order a handle replacement, but the website says it does no come with the two screws needed to install it! in order to get the screws, you need to purchase a door assembly. very frustrating to say the least.

product stopped working soon after warranty ended. as many others, microwave is making a buzzing noise but not heating. will not send part to fix unless service is set up through samsung. service would cost more than the appliance itself. was going to use samsung appliances for flips, but definitely not after this experience. its a shame because samsung makes great tv's.

this product was dissapointing, i had upgraded from one of the old style table microwaves in which was perfectly functional for 7+ years. this microwave worked oerfectly fine for two whole years. right at the 2 year mark, the microwave had issues turning on, and smelled like something was burning every time i attempted to use it.

cheap plastic handle breaks off completely from regular use, and its impossible to reattach with gorilla glue. samsung says warranty expires 12months after manufacture, not purchase, and will not fix unless you pay more than the cost of the microwave. also, product repeatedly breaks the circuit breaker.

Basic Microwave without all the bells and whistles!

Our 4 year old LG microwave died on Christmas Day. Fancy microwave with many options and settings that we rarely use. This Samsung model was a breeze to install. Looks good and does exactly what it supposed to do -- HEAT FOOD. Only complaint was very dim under hood light even on high setting. Replaced with 5W high power T17 LED and very pleased with result.

Nothing special about it. It's a basic over the range microwave. These don't last more than 5 years usually. The magnetron goes bad and starts making an arcing sound.

Instructions Vague and Installation Difficult

The installation instructions for this product were written by somebody who may SPEAK English as a second language, but does not WRITE it well. They: A) are vague; B) do not properly explain various operations; C) are repetitive; D) use such poor English grammar, in places, as to be useless; E) have not been proofread and have spelling and grammatical errors that one must read and re-read in order to understand. A "native" English speaker would have identified the errors and corrected them. It took three (3) of us to figure out how to use the mounting bar and to hoist the thing into place. Moreover, the instructions for PLACING the mounting bar are confusing. We had to re-mount it for that reason. The under-cabinet mounting template instructions were not clear and we had to fix, re-fix, and "re-re-fix" the mounting holes to hold the thing in place. Between trying to understand the instructions, discussing how to place the mounting bar, RE-placing it and putting the product on it, and then repeatedly removing it and re-attempting to mount it, it took us the better part of five (5) hours to install the thing. A professional can probably install it in much less time, but we are "do-it-yourselfers" who don't understand the Asian version of English that is used in the instructions. We also had to improvise in areas where the instructions were not clear, were poorly written, or omitted important information. Finally, the product WORKS fine. However the over-stove light is not bright enough to be used for much more than a night light - even on HIGH - and does not disburse light evenly over the stove top. I would not recommend this product unless you are a competent do-it-yourselfer and have plenty of light over the stove.

Instructions were not very clear. One step by step directions, no mention of cutting template for back wall which you do not need to do, however on the template in 2 places in small English language lettering, it says trim edges of template. Also, Spanish directions overpowered the English directions on the template. Very distracting. We had already put one up over 12 years ago, so luckily we had some knowledge. Ours came with a broken door handle. The handle is plastic on a stainless microwave. We called for a new handle as that would be easier then taking the oven down and exchanging it. We had a very difficult time with the rep over the phone. This rep was very hard to understand. We were told we are getting a whole new door as the handle can't be replaced itself. We got a message today about a problem with our request, at least we think that is what the message said as again, the rep was very difficult to understand. We will be returning the call as soon as we can. We are still trying to get the handle issue resolved. You get what you pay for. This was a steal and works well so far. But is not a top of the line microwave.
