Online search indicates this is a frequent Maytag problem. Too bad as it has nice features.

Bought this refridgerater about a month ago. With the freezer at bottom, it leaves so much room at top & with French doors, you can see everything so easily & get to any item you are looking for. The freezer is quite convenient, as well & plenty large enough !

We are so happy with our new Maytag fridge. It has plenty of space even though it's only 30 inches wide! It keeps cheese and lunch meat perfectly in the deli drawer and the veggie and fruit drawers help those items stay fresher for longer. The freezer is perfect!! We can fit just what we need. We are so grateful we purchased! Highly recommended all around!

I am now retired, so I decided to lean toward the French doors because most foods needed are refrigerated and not frozen. When I measured the wideth of the current refrigerator in the home I bought I was nervous about the 30 inch squeeze but I was pleasantly surprised I could still get 20 Cu. Ft.
I love the back feeding ice make with a filter in the refrigerator section. And as a bonus, there is a odor filter that sucked up the cup of peeled garlic cloves in the container I placed them in. WOW, who knew it would work that well?
The inside light went out for a couple moments when my 25 y/o opened the door, but came back on and has not occurred again. I'm not worried about it, but even if it occurs again I always purchase the 3-year warranty on any Appliance since WTO. I learned if a product have a problem it usually shows up within the first 3-years and the Maytag warranty was cheap compared to Sears prices.
I would add photos, however, I have no idea how to downsize a photo from 28 Mb to email myself, so look online. Maytag does a wonderful job of show off their product! The only think that may be hard to notice is the recessed shelves on each door are deep and holds more than a conventional door! I have two half gallons and a quart of cream in one slot, 5 to 7 bottles of dressing, seasoning, and sauces in one, and four more slots (that lift out for easy cleaning!) still to fill. My celery has been in the crisper for TWO weeks and its as good as the day I bought it and would probably last at least 1 - 2 weeks more.
This is the first Maytag I have had. I am so impressed. I'd love to purchase a Maytag 5-burner gas stove and dishwasher in the next couple months, also. I received a discount for a slight scratch on it that does not show. So, I'm hoping for another scratch or dent appliance to save more money, as well. Look them over. I think you may be as impressed with Maytag as I was. And I just thought of them as washer and dryer people. Shame on me!

I have had my Maytag french door refrigerator for two weeks. So far I am loving it! I bought this particular model because I needed a smaller refrigerator for the space I had and as a result of positive reviews I had read. It has plenty of space inside, though. The middle shelf has two sections. The front section can slide under the back section allowing you to store taller items on the lower shelf.There is also ample room in the door bins for taller items, even a gallon jug of milk. I love the fingerprint resistant stainless steel finish. Several reviews I read when researching refrigerators said that the front of their refrigerators were not magnetic. So I was pleasantly surprised to find that mine is! Other positives are that the drawers slide smoothly (unlike my last refrigerator) and the refrigerator operates very quietly.

Needed a certain size to fit my kitchen configuration. This model gave me the most space in both the refrigerator and freezer. The freezer is easy to load and has compartments to separate my meats from other frozen foods. Ice maker works great and doesn't take up as much space as other models. My only complaint is in the refrigerator the shelves don't allow enough options to adjust them and I wish there were more shelves that you could split - I need more space for high bottles like wine, soda, juice.

We bought 3 weeks ago and we are very pleased. Set up was plug and play, perfect. Extremely silencious. The only design point to improve is to split the unique retractable layer in two, in order to keep half extended if not needed.

We bought this refrigerator about a month ago and really like the features. We were limited to a 30 inch size but this accomodates all of our needs.It has plenty of room inside and we like the adjustable shelves in the doors. The freezer has two nice deep bins inside. It is so easy to keep clean.

Purchased over 1 month ago. So glad I did! Features include deodorizer and keep produce from spoiling. I like the lines of each compartment and ease of each draw. Doors accommodate beverages of choice, juices, milk etc.
Freezer draw is spacious for meats, frozen vegetables and homemade prepared muffins and breads. Love my new Maytag more reasons than one!

I bought this refrigerator and the ice machine didn't even work. I was told by the repair man that Maytag doesn't test to make sure product is working correctly before they ship it out. I was without an ice maker for two weeks

Size was our first consideration. This refrigerator manages a French door design in a 30" box very well. We like the adjustable shelf so that we can put pitchers or other tall items in without using the door shelves. Love the LED lighting. The aesthetics of this frig, imho, are better than just about any other of this size. It is a quality unit and looks that way. It is also quiet. Has an alarm if door is left open. Just an awesome refrigerator. One issue is the doors don't open 180*, but it's not a big deal (for some folks this is a good thing as they don't have to worry about hitting the wall).

Purchased this frig given size for my kitchen almost three weeks ago. The ice maker was broken (dangling from wires didn't notice when guys delivered) but I don't have plumbing for it. Reason I'm giving four stars is that about two weeks ago one of the French doors started squeaking....service guy said that it's because of plastic hinge put some oil on hinge....still squeaks but not as loud. :(

Our only complaint is that there's not good place to put gallons of milk or pitchers that have to be upright. We somewhat remedied this by moving the fruin/veggie draw to the top, and the fold-down shelve above the meat drawer, but we lost a whole shelve doing so.

This is a great option for small spaces. We wanted a french door, bottom freezer option and weren't finding any other brands that fit our space. This was the perfect option for us. It is a smaller fridge, though, so be aware of that - and what other reviews mention about the shelving limitation is indeed a bit frustrating. I wish they had made the retratactable shelf split so that one half could be used as a whole unit. But it's either all retracted or all forward. The issue with milk gallons not fitting can be solved by moving the shelves up or down. We wanted this kind of fridge and we are making it work - and the quality of the actual refrigeration system is outstanding. The icemaker works great. Overall, it's a really good fridge.

Our GE fridge from 2007 died, so we needed a new one. Challenge was finding one that fit into our space. There were few options but this one worked. I like it a lot. Easy controls, double doors. Good organization of the inner space. Roomy freezer. Only down side is the doors don't swing all the way wide open but other than that love it.

I bought this model specifically because our space was limited and I wanted the freezer on the bottom. It was a little smaller than expected. I could not fit my larger bottles on the shelves. The shelves could of been laid out a little differently to accomadate larger things.

My only complaint is that none of the shelves will hold a gallon of milk and it is just a 1/2 inch short. Not sure who designed this but really we almost all use milk. Otherwise the larger pantry drawer is great as my husband is a sandwich guy and the lunch meat and cheese fit great. Like the freezer space too.

This is a sweet and simple frig. No fuss, no bother, just does a great job. I didn't need one with an ice maker on the door because where it is located there is no plumbing for water. It is roomy inside and there is plenty of room for all my perishables. Clean and streamlined. I love the bottom freezer. However, the shelves are all straight across with no way to adjust height for tall bottles. I have to store my tall bottles in the door pockets that CAN be adjusted for larger items. Not really a problem. Just have to get used to it.
