Great, Reasonable Sized Fridge, feature filled!

We bought this fridge about a month ago after our 2011 GE Cafe fridge prematurely died (we probably had service calls every year on it). This fridge is a good compromise between a full size 36" fridge (where food gets lost in the back) and a counter-depth fridge (which is slightly too small for us). We like: interior filtered water; lots of storage on the doors, the retractable shelf for tall items and the full width crisper drawer. The handles are very sturdy too. It's very quiet too (except when ice maker is refilling or filtered water is refilling, but that's only for a few seconds). And Made in USA (unlike the aforementioned expensive GE Cafe that died after 8 years and numerous repairs).

Fridge that whistles while it works!!

Bought this end of October and the fridge makes a high pitch tone . Had service there 2 times, and he cant hear it. Not sure why. It is in the human hearing range about 1KHZ. Set audio recording at various times and there seems to be lack of response..Wasted my money on an extended warranty for an additional 4 years. Had Samsung- Quiet, some service issues, GE Quiet, died after 14 years.

Replacement Refrigerator

We changed all our kitchen appliances from white to stainless. Included is this was the refrigerator which replaced the identical white fridge purchased in 2012. Everything is essentially the same save for the led lights the the size of the ice container. However the plastic used in the fridge for shelves and drawers appears to be of a poorer or lesser quality. The sliding fruit/vegetable crisper drawers and the larger cheese drawer as I would call it do not glide very well. There is too much friction with the brackets.

I have had this fridge for not quite year. It is not the one I picked out because the contractor had the wrong specs for the cabinet but it is the one I ended up with. I cook a lot and entertain a lot, so the fridge it always pretty packed. I am a little disappointed with how the drawer shelf droops a little in the middle and I still have not figured out that slide back half shelf or truly the best way to organize stuff but it seems to do a good job overall. I have found food frozen at the back of the fridge with the setting at the number suggested by Kitchenaide. I also don't like that there isn't a place for eggs, but they do go on the shelf just as well I guess. Everyone love my water dispenser. I am still getting use to the lower freezer and how to pack it properly and efficiently. Not a huge fan of cleaning the stainless because it really never completely cleans but other wise it looks great. Loved the study feeling handles instead of some of the shotty plastic ones on other fridges.

Bought this unit 9-18-18 I have had the freezer stop working four times with a loss of my freezer contents. I have had the factory warranty service come out and replace every part in my unit that still did not fix the problem. My warranty expired three weeks ago so I call Kitchen Aid they told me that I was out of warranty, I said the issue was never resolved while it was under warranty they told me TO BAD. I will never recommend this product to anyone nor will I ever buy another Kitchen Aid product as I have bought three of their products, the supervisor was rude in regards to my issue and did not care that it was NEVER CORRECTED! Do yourself a favor and do not buy this junk!

Mostly good but... design needs work

Bout this a couple months ago and the crisper drawers have been very stingy to open since day one. As a result the slide bracket fell out and the shelf and drawer dropped on top of the bottom drawer. I refastened the screw twice before calling for a warranty service. they are replacing the troubled parts but a better design would have avoided the issue. Went back to the store and the floor model worked better. Other than that issue the refrigerator is good for the price. It is spacious and performs well. As with any French door/ bottom drawer units, you do need to make sure doors are closed and sealed completely to avoid condensation. The back of the fridge does also sometimes frost or freeze but not that frequent.

I am happy with my new refrigerator. plenty of refer space but the freezer is a bit smaller than expected. have not yet set up automatic water dispenser or ice maker.

Looks great but... the details killed it.

I was excited about my new purchase of this fridge. Thankfully, I did a bit more research when I got home. What I read, scared me so I went back to the store and did some checking. I ended up cancelling the order and I'm getting an LG (yuck) instead. Why? Simple. Maytag has shelves that have no dam on the rear. Further, they are about 1.5 inches off the back of the fridge. So why is that significant? Because any spill will immediately drain off the back edge. And what is that bad? Because KitchenAid decided to put a permanent piece of styrofoam along the rear wall, behind the drawers. When your goo oozes down the back, it will get stuck in that styrofoam and it will be *impossible* to get out. First, styrofoam is soft (no rubbing). Second, the foam is permanently affixed, meaning that any mess will get pulled into the small gap between the foam and the rear wall, etc. This is a maintenance nightmare and, potentially, a source for bad bacteria to grow. At its best, the flaw will be unsightly and messy. At its worst, the flaw could be a significant health hazard. Now, I like to buy American. You know, support the American worker, our economy, our independence. But when I encounter a design flaw as big as this one, I simply will not purchase that product. LG's fridge doesn't have this problem. GE didn't have exactly what I wanted, so LG it is. Sorry KitchenAid. I've used your appliances for years; in fact, the fridge I'm replacing is a KA. But this time around, you had a fail.

Water/Ice dispenser

Had this fridge since December, the chilled water dispenser gets a lot of use daily and has drastically reduced our bottled water purchases. Larger fridge and the meat tray are very nice overall very happy with this new larger fridge and especially the water dispenser.

I bought a few weeks ago. I didn't realize there was a product I should be putting in the vegetable and fruit crisper I believe I threw it away thinking it was for packing . I am finding it a bit difficult to keep the temperatures in the meat and vegetable crisper stable as things seem to be spoiling fairly easy . I am pleased with the water dispenser the icemaker in the rest of the fridge

Great refrigerator!

When I replaced my refrigerator I had to go with a 33 inch due to limited space. I was concerned about the size but I was pleasantly surprised with the new 33 in Kitchenaid! Plenty of space and love the french door model! Very quiet and a keeper for sure!

Good looking exterior

Love the look and feel of the exterior. So far working well. The interior components are surprisingly cheap and flimsy feeling and looking. Really some of the worst I've ever experienced . The layout is nice. I was also shocked that there's exposed styrofoam glued to the back of the fridge. Just So tacky. The exterior is so nice looking though I decided to keep it.
